The Press is a must if you are in the Temecula area! So cute, quaint, and the coffee is one of the best in the valley hands down! They are based in Old Town Temecula, and use teas from Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants, who carry specialty teas and spices from all over the world! Um yes, because their chai latte is one of the best that I’ve ever had…and I’ve had my fare share! Joy here, I’m sure you could have guessed that by the chai comment 😉

Lets be real, we don’t like to go to a coffee shop if its not aesthetically pleasing… obviously unless the coffee is even better, which we do have some favorites that are more of a homey feel, over cute haha but for you girls, we bring you the cute stuff!

So with that, yes, The Press is definitely up to par! They have an awesome atmosphere filled with such unique decor and pieces!

They are a little on the smaller side, but we don’t mind it being a little more on the quiet side sometimes!

Like I said, it is on the smaller side but they have slightly expanded recently by adding a few more tables!

The atmosphere is perfect for working, reading, studying… as long as you get a table! Or sit at the super rad bar top!

Hands down a 10 out of 10!

They are specialize in craft espresso, coffee, and tea! All their syrups/sauces are hand made . . . yes, hand made. So delicious and pure. Nothing is overly sweet! If you are looking for true coffee, this is the place.

Now, we’ve both tried several drinks there and loved all of them! So to narrow it down to one each is more difficult but we will give you our top three drinks to try!

T O P  3  M U S T  T R Y  D R I N K S :

-Chai Tea Latte with Coconut Milk ( our milk of choice )

-Almond Milk Latte

– Honey Lavender Latte with Almond Milk

& the Lemon Poppyseed Vegan Donut is a slight must too 😉

Now, I only give a 6 out of 10 because they don’t offer “food” other than pastries. Butttt let us tell you, their pastries are A M A Z E. They also sell Compartes Chocolate . . . amen to that.

They have macaroons, bagels, croissants, vegan donuts, and more! Perfect pairings with your coffee or tea!

And by the photo above . . . yes, it is definitely instagram worthy! Check out theirs and it will take you want to go even more @thepressespresso !

Now thats our thoughts on The Press Espresso, and if you get a chance to go visit, do yourself a favor and go enjoy an latte for us 😉

Next up on coffee crawls . . . K I T   C O F F E E

We visited this adorable coffee shop . . . and we will definitely be back! Here are our first impressions :

first — it was pretty roomy! Some coffee shops are walk-in only… we don’t like those too much ( unless the coffee is too good to resist, of course! haha ) but there was plenty of room! It was a little crowded when we got there + Justi’s shoes had tar all over the, so we were in a bit of a panic, but we settled down and enjoyed our coffee & editing!

The simplicity of KIT is unbeatable, so far! Their aesthetics were perfect and the openness of the place was so inviting!

Now for our checklist & thoughts on KIT!

We take this into consideration every time . . . so don’t judge 😉

But in all seriousness . . . the aesthetic of the place is on point. Everywhere from the cement flooring, to the high ceilings, the raw wood tones, greenery, hardware, and even to the little knick knacks that they sell, it all came together so perfectly.

They definitely passed with a 10/10! I mean, even look at the donuts and pastries under the glass cellars . . . they made me want them and I wasn’t even hungry! & catch the little bottles of immune boosters in the tin bowl . . . I don’t know why, but I found that so cute and thoughtful! haha

Like I said, they have quite a bit of seating! Tables, bar seating, low tables & stools, and outdoor seating ( which we love! ). But with all that, we still were left with bar seating until a table opened up! But to give them credit, it was a busy time of day and we will let it slide 😉

Now, I mainly only have to give this a lower score because we didn’t eat there! Buttttt, they do have food! They have a small menu including, breakfast burritos & some bomb-looking avocado toasts! It sounds so delicious as I type this . . . I am about to drive down there right now!

They also have, like I mentioned earlier, some amazing looking pastries! You can never go wrong with a good blueberry crumb muffin or a donut!

Vanilla Latte w/ Almond Milk.

Always my drink of choice! Super good, flavorful, sweet but yet not too much vanilla . . . I will say I’ve had better, but it wasn’t bad at all!

any guesses before I say it ? . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Yep, you were right 😉

Iced Chai Tea Latte w/ Almond Milk.

Delicious, as they always were! They had soy & almond milk, for their milk substitutes and I was very pleased with mine! Not to strong, but not to milky, you feel? I prefer coconut milk with my chai’s, but almond is a close runner up!

They carry a wide variety of Tatine candles . . . that doesn’t need much explaining besides, amazing.

For a girl, you really can’t go wrong with coffee and candles, like really, its heaven. haha

They smell amazing & look rad. That equals a 10/10 for us!

I give this a straight 10 because, we took tons of pictures and never got any crazy looks, rude comments, or awkward people *praise*.

Its white, has wood tones, fiddle leaf trees, and coffee . . . if that doesn’t equal out to a perfect insta post, then I don’t know what does.

Thanks for coming along with us to KIT! Now, go try it for yourself. You won’t regret it 😉

joy & justi

We’re all about good eats, coffee, chai tea latte’s, & good vibes.
It’s definitely safe to say, we spend a good part of our money grabbing coffee + going out to eat, “just to kill time”. Granted, yes, we are a little pathetic- but we figured we would take this pastime of ours to show you some of our favorite places to grab coffee + find new ones to show you babes!

We’re so excited to announce that this is the beginning of our new series called, “Coffee Crawls with Joy & Justi”.

In our new series, we’re going to include a checklist that we look for whenever we go to a new coffee spot. This is the mental checklist that we’ve always made in our heads that determines if a coffee shop is “good” or not- but we’re finally taking it from a mental checklist to a physical checklist so we can share it with all of our bff’s (you guys).

san diego, ca

The home of the infamous “Coffee + Flowers” that floats around pinterest all of the time.
When we found out that this adorable coffee shop was only about an hour from our home towns, we made a drive down to beautiful San Diego to see what all the hype was about + to take some instagram pictures, if we’re being honest!

One of our favorite things here at Joy & Justi are businesses that combine & collaborate with other small business/business owners. It’s one of the raddest things to see the collaborations between two completely different companies that end up creating a uniting + unique vibe & a creative atmosphere that your generic coffee shops or stores aren’t going to have. Granted, we just thought the Coffee + Flowers sign was cute.. but we didn’t realize that they actually sold coffee and flowers!!!

Now, let’s go through our checklist & see what we thought about Communal Coffee!

As pathetic as we sound, in our current day & age.. this is a legitimate issue! In our generation, we’re always wanting to go to the newest or cutest coffee shop. & We’re no different than anyone else + if we’re being honest, we will drive the extra 5 miles to go to a place that has cute decor!

Communal Coffee passes our “aesthetically pleasing” checklist with FLYING colors. I don’t think there’s anything we would change about the vibe or aesthetics of the place but we definitely want to transfer everything about it into our house!

Seating is a big issue with a lot of coffee shops! There are coffee shops that have a great ambience + great drinks but they don’t have any seating! It’s definitely hard when you go into a coffee shop with the intention of studying or working but there’s no place to sit… so you just end up walking out.

Communal Coffee is loaded with tons of seating & chairs! The maximum sitting occupancy is probably 50 people, with plenty of individual tables, tables for parties of four, & also a long farmhouse style table that will fit about 10 people. If you’re looking for a place to work or do homework, you’re almost always going to be guaranteed seating here!

Imagine you’re working on a project & you’re halfway done, so you obviously don’t want to leave to stop your workflow but you’re starving.. if you leave you’re going to have to start all over.  But having the option to grab food at a coffee shop is always a great thing because you’re able to work & eat! Talk about convenient.
Communal Coffee has an extensive yet simple breakfast & lunch menu to chose from, so there’s something for everyone!

Vanilla Latte w/ Almond Milk.
Would definitely give it a solid 7.5/10, the espresso was great but the only thing I wasn’t the biggest fan of was how sweet it was! That may just be a preference of mine but I prefer when the espresso takes more of the front seat instead of the vanilla, if that makes any sense.

Iced Chai Tea Latte w/ Almond Milk.
I would rate it a 7/10 just because it was a little too “chai-y”, aka there was so much cinnamon I felt like it was kind of burning my throat. I prefer coconut milk sometimes as well, so it’s nice when coffee shops have both options for your drink!

This is the cutest little floral + gift shop that is in the same location as Communal Coffee. Not only do you have the opportunity to eat, dine, & study but you can also shop + stop to get some florals! We’re obsessed with the combination of the two ideas. They have the raddest brands + unique things that you won’t find at your average mom & pop shop! If you’re in the area, I would definitely suggest stopping by & getting some shopping done – especially if you’re looking for gifts!

Native Poppy’s Instagram

I know what you’re thinking, “these girls are pathetic”, but this is something we totally think about! Either way, Communal Coffee + Native Poppy have tons of different photo op’s plus adorable backgrounds to snap some pictures of. We love being able to look around while sipping our coffee or eating our breakfast & thinking “let’s snap a picture of that!”

They win with a 10/10.

Hope all you babes loved this post + stay tuned for our monthly “coffee crawls” series! If you have any suggestions/recommendations for places that we should try, be sure to comment them below. Until next time!
